A tailored service for ASIC-SA Ltd.

The Company:

The home of jewellery tools

Since its conception in 1981 ASIC SA has gained a worldwide reputation both for the quality of its products and its excellent service and delivery programme.

With a global HQ in the UK and offices in Switzerland the company is perfectly situated to continue with these founding principles, working closely with specialist manufacturers throughout Europe and exporting to over 30 countries across Europe the Middle East, Australasia and the USA.

The Need:

Using an old European term, ASIC is a “gross grossist”—a wholesaler to wholesale companies. With imports and exports spanning most of the world and a product range exceeding 5,000 SKUs, ASIC’s offering includes everything from single or bulk-packed products to machines and assortments.

Initially operating with Pegasus Opera 3 as a standalone system, ASIC quickly recognised the need for a more advanced solution to support its growing stock movement requirements. The company turned to MJM Data Capture and their Bridge solution, which offered a barcode-driven system that was intuitive, easy to use, and provided the visibility Opera 3 lacked. This streamlined the goods-in process, sales order processing, and stocktaking—saving both time and resources.

“Our product range had grown significantly, and we needed a system that could keep up. MJM’s barcode solution was neat, easy to understand, and gave us the visibility we were missing. It made a real difference to our day-to-day operations.” Martin Culley – Director

The Solution:

After several successful years using the Bridge system, ASIC’s business model began to evolve. The company also achieved ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations, making visibility and control even more critical. Around the same time, MJM introduced their new Warehouse Management System (WMS), and ASIC seized the opportunity to upgrade.

Following a site visit to confirm the solution’s suitability, ASIC embarked on a rigorous testing phase using real company data. This approach ensured that every scenario tested was relevant and meaningful. After successful stress testing, the team moved into User Acceptance Testing, with MJM providing on-site support throughout.

Despite some delays on ASIC’s side, the system went live within a few months. As with any implementation, there were minor teething issues—but MJM’s support team was highly responsive, often calling within minutes to ensure everything continued smoothly.

“We jumped at the chance to move to the new WMS. The testing process was thorough and realistic, and MJM were with us every step of the way. Their support was outstanding—responsive, knowledgeable, and proactive.” Martin Culley – Director

The Benefits:

The results have been transformative. ASIC now enjoys exceptional visibility across its entire warehouse operation. From works orders and serial number traceability to goods receipt, put-away, picking, packing, and invoicing—every process is tracked in real time.

The system enables staff to monitor bin locations (including multiple bins per item), assign tasks, and maintain full traceability of products and personnel. It satisfies internal process requirements, supports ISO compliance, and meets customer expectations—all through an intuitive interface backed by a first-class support team.

“Visibility of our product and process is amazing now. WMS is like having a team of staff working in the background. It’s easy to use, meets our ISO and customer requirements, and is backed by a professional company that’s truly first class.”Martin Culley – Director
